How to Manage Your Inventory

Everything you need to know about adding, editing, removing, and reordering inventory on your dealer website.

Adding New Inventory

Follow these five steps

Before adding a new product, go to Building Descriptions on your dashboard first. Find the matching building type and copy the description. Then click Add New Product and give the building a clear, descriptive name (e.g., “10×16 Lofted Barn” or “12×24 Utility Shed”).

Paste the description you copied into the Short Description box. This is the description that appears on your inventory page below the building photos.

Important: Paste in the Short Description box, NOT the Product Description box. The Product Description box is not displayed on your site. You can add extra notes about the specific building (color, special features, etc.) below the pasted description.

Enter the price in the Regular Price field. Do not use the Sale Price field — if you want to run a sale or discount, use the bulk price discounter tool instead. The Sale Price field can cause display issues if used incorrectly.

Your building will NOT appear on your site without this step! You must check the Premier Portable Buildings category, plus the appropriate sub-category for the building type (e.g., “Lofted Barns,” “Utility Sheds”). If you are listing a trailer, you also need to check the Trailers category so it appears on the Trailers page.
  • Product Image — This is the main thumbnail photo that shows in your inventory list. Set this by clicking “Set product image” in the right sidebar.
  • Product Gallery — These are the additional photos that show when a customer clicks into the listing. Add multiple angles, interior shots, and detail photos here.
  • You can upload photos directly from your phone — just tap the upload button and select from your camera roll.

When everything is filled in, click Publish to make the building live on your site.

Marking Buildings as Sold

When a building sells, mark it as Sold rather than deleting it:

  1. Go to List Products on your dashboard.
  2. Find the building and hover over it, then click Quick Edit.
  3. Change the status to Sold.
  4. Click Update to save.
Sale fell through? If a sale doesn’t go through, just go back to Quick Edit and change the status back to Available. The building will reappear in your inventory as normal.

Removing Buildings

To remove a building from your inventory entirely:

  1. Go to List Products on your dashboard.
  2. Hover over the building you want to remove.
  3. Click Trash.
Accidentally trashed something? Click the Trash tab at the top of the List Products page. Find the product and click Restore to bring it back. Items stay in the Trash for 30 days before being permanently deleted.

Editing Buildings

To make quick changes to a building’s title, price, or status:

  1. Go to List Products on your dashboard.
  2. Hover over the building and click Quick Edit.
  3. Make your changes and click Update.
Note: You cannot change photos through Quick Edit. To update photos, click the building’s title to open the full editor, then scroll down to the Product Image or Product Gallery section.

Moving Buildings Back to the Top

Watch: Reorder Inventory (1 min)

Your inventory displays with the newest items at the top. If you want to move an older building back to the top of the list, use the duplicate-and-trash method:

  1. Go to List Products and find the building you want to move to the top.
  2. Hover over it and click Duplicate. This creates an exact copy with all the same information and photos.
  3. The duplicate will appear at the top of your inventory as a new listing.
  4. Go back to the original listing (the older one) and click Trash to remove it.
  5. You now have the same building at the top of your inventory with a fresh listing date.
This is a great way to rotate your stock and keep your inventory looking fresh. Buildings that have been sitting for a while get pushed down the list — duplicating them brings them back to the top where customers see them first.

Tips for Better Listings

  • Take good photos. Well-lit, clear photos from multiple angles sell more buildings. Include interior shots and close-ups of special features.
  • Use descriptive titles. Include the size and building type in every title (e.g., “12×20 Side Lofted Barn” instead of just “Barn”). Customers browse by scanning titles.
  • Always set your categories. A building without the Premier Portable Buildings category checked will not show up on your site at all.
  • Keep prices current. Outdated prices create confusion and erode customer trust. Update prices whenever they change.
  • Remove sold buildings promptly. Nothing frustrates a customer more than calling about a building that’s already gone. Mark as Sold or Trash it the same day.
  • Rotate your stock. Use the duplicate-and-trash method to move older buildings back to the top of your list. This keeps your inventory looking fresh and active.
